Maslink ("we", "us", or "our") operates maslink.ca and provides technology services to businesses in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information, and outlines your rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
By using our website or engaging our services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
1. What Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to communicate with you and deliver our services:
Contact form submissions
Name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message. This is the only information collected through our website.
Service engagements
Business contact details, system information, and credentials shared by you for the purpose of completing agreed work. We collect only what is needed to perform the services requested.
Website usage data
Basic, non-personally identifiable data such as page visits and general geographic location may be collected through Cloudflare's infrastructure for security and performance purposes.
We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics beyond what Cloudflare collects as part of its standard service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to:
- ›Respond to your inquiries and quote requests.
- ›Deliver and support the IT, software, or web services you have engaged us for.
- ›Send invoices and service-related communications directly connected to your engagement.
- ›Maintain business records as required by Canadian tax and accounting regulations.
We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. Ever.
3. Third-Party Services & Cross-Border Data
Our website relies on the following third-party services. Some of these are based outside Canada, which means your information may be processed or stored in another country, including the United States, subject to that country's laws.
Cloudflare (United States)
Hosts and secures our website. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and basic request data as part of its content delivery and security services.
Cloudflare Turnstile (United States)
Used on our contact form to prevent automated spam. Turnstile performs a privacy-preserving challenge and does not store personal information.
Resend (United States)
Delivers contact form submissions to our inbox. The contents of your form submission — including your name, email, and message — are transmitted through Resend's servers in the United States. By submitting our contact form, you consent to this transfer.
Each of these providers maintains their own privacy policies and security practices. We have selected providers we consider reputable and appropriate for our use case.
4. Data Retention
Contact and engagement information is retained for as long as necessary to deliver services and maintain records in accordance with applicable Canadian tax and business regulations — typically seven years for financial records. Credentials and sensitive access information shared for a service engagement are deleted once the work is complete, unless ongoing access is required under a continued support arrangement and you have expressly authorised this.
5. Security
We take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. Our website is served over HTTPS. Contact form data is transmitted securely. Credentials shared during engagements are handled with care, not stored in insecure formats, and not shared with unauthorised parties. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights Under PIPEDA
As a Canadian resident, you have the right to:
- ›Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- ›Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete information.
- ›Withdraw consent for uses of your personal information, subject to legal or contractual obligations that may require us to retain certain records.
- ›File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe we have not handled your information appropriately.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are directed at businesses and are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
